CA Apparel: Designed by Us, Made with Artisans in India

CA Apparel is our women’s clothing line, and it began in the spring of 2025 with five styles. It has grown every year since. Kelley Barr and the same management team behind our Sweater Shop design each piece, then work with tailors and artisans in India to bring the designs to life.

How Each Piece Is Made

Every CA Apparel style starts many months before it reaches the shop, with sketches, technical drawings, fabric sourcing, fittings, and sample revisions. We work closely with our tailors and artisans in India through each step, refining the details of a piece before it goes into production. Each garment is a collaboration between our team and the people who make it.

Where We Started

Our first five styles were the Everyday Blouse, Everyday Skirt, Wrap Dress, CA Scarf/Wrap, and Grace Skirt. We spent months choosing fabrics from India for each one, looking for materials that would feel good to wear and hold up to regular use.

Growing Each Year

Since then, the line has grown with the Maggie Dress, the Amelia Dress, the Ruffle Shirt, the Pant, the Oxford Shirt, and the Inverted Box Pleat Skirt. Each style comes in a range of fabrics, from breathable linens and soft chambrays to lightweight gauze, shirting fabrics, and hand-block printed cottons, so you can choose the one that suits you.
